Sterile Processing TechnicianSeven Healthcare are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician for an exciting travel assignment at a large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. This facility provides sterile processing services to multiple facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, along with emergency services for the area.Emphasizing support, communication, and a nurse-first approach, Seven Healthcare provides:License reimbursement – financial support to maintain your professional credentialsReferral program – earn rewards for introducing fellow healthcare professionalsHealth insurance – comprehensive medical coverage for you and your familyCertification reimbursement – assistance with obtaining additional qualificationsWeekly pay – prompt and reliable payments every weekKey Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician:Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions and follow department protocolsOperate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization proceduresAdhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case cartsRetrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontaminationExamine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality, identifying malfunctioning items and notifying supervisor or biomedical engineerAssist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levelsPerform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environmentRequirements of the Sterile Processing Technician:Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) must not expire during the assignmentHigh School Diploma or equivalent2 years+ of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of SPT experience in a tertiary settingAbility to lift/carry 25 pounds, stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of timeEffective communication skills in English (verbally and in writing)Bethpage: Where the Job Meets Lifestyle:Located in Bethpage, NY, this assignment offers free parking and easy access to local amenities.
